Bishop David Abioye, former Vice-President of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, will commence Sunday morning services on May 4, 2025, causing excitement among followers.
The announcement, made during the evening service in Abuja on Sunday, April 27, was met with loud praises and applause from the congregation, signaling widespread acceptance of the move.
“Very important information. From next Sunday, by the grace of God, our service is migrating to morning.
Hallelujah. And the time is 8 am. God bless you mightily in Jesus’ name,” Bishop Abioye declared, drawing a wave of enthusiasm from attendees.
Bishop Abioye, who retired from Living Faith Church in October 2024 alongside Bishop Thomas Aremu, stepped down following a policy review that set the retirement age for senior leaders at 55.
At the time of their retirement, Aremu was 67 years old while Abioye was 63.
Under the new administrative framework, future leadership tenures at Living Faith will also be limited to one or two terms of seven years each, subject to Board of Trustees approval.
Upon his retirement, Abioye had initially ruled out establishing a new church, emphasizing his commitment to the ministry work he had carried out alongside Bishop David Oyedepo for decades.
However, he subsequently launched a non-denominational evening fellowship, which has continued to grow steadily.
Speaking at the close of the April 27 service, Abioye emphasized that his ministry’s progression into morning services was driven by divine instruction rather than personal ambition.
