Security heads in Anambra State on Monday held a high-level meeting to finalize arrangements ahead of the scheduled visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the state on Thursday, May 8, 2025.
The President is expected to embark on a one-day working visit to commission a series of projects completed by Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.
In a statement issued by the spokesperson of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the meeting was described as a critical step toward ensuring a secure and seamless visit.
“The Anambra State Security Chiefs convened today, Monday, 5th May 2025, in a closed-door meeting to strengthen security arrangements ahead of the scheduled visit of the President to Anambra State,” Ikenga stated.
According to him, the meeting, which lasted over five hours, included detailed briefings from various security agency leaders and focused on operational planning, intelligence review, inter-agency coordination, and contingency preparedness.
He added that special attention was given to areas such as joint deployment strategies, coordinated patrols, and surveillance coverage across key locations in the state, particularly within the capital city and other strategic zones.
Among the security agencies represented at the meeting were the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). Also in attendance was Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi (Rtd), Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security.
“This comprehensive security approach reflects the commitment of Anambra State’s security architecture to guaranteeing the safety of the visiting president, dignitaries, and citizens, while sustaining peace and stability across the state,” Ikenga said.
