Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has expressed heartfelt appreciation to Turkish champions Galatasaray, describing his experience at the club as the most fulfilling of his career.
Since his high-profile move from Serie A giants Napoli to Galatasaray in September, Osimhen has enjoyed a remarkable season, becoming a fan favourite and key player for the Istanbul-based side.
The 26-year-old has netted an impressive 33 goals in all competitions, playing a pivotal role in Galatasaray’s push for a third successive Turkish Super Lig title.
With captain Mauro Icardi sidelined by injury, Osimhen has stepped up as the team’s talisman, further endearing himself to the supporters.
“There is a mutual bond, a real sense of belonging between me and Galatasaray,” Osimhen said in an interview with Galatasaray TV.
“To be honest, I will forever be grateful to Galatasaray. I think this is the club I have enjoyed the most in my career so far—the club with the most passionate and even most compassionate fans.”
Galatasaray are also set to face Trabzonspor in the Turkish Cup final later this month, with Osimhen expected to play a central role in their pursuit of a domestic double.
