Arsenal midfielder, Declan Rice, has called on the club’s hierarchy to strengthen the squad during the upcoming summer transfer window as the team looks to mount a serious title challenge next season.

Rice made the remarks following Arsenal’s narrow 1-0 victory over Newcastle United on Sunday, a match in which the England international scored the decisive second-half goal at the Emirates Stadium.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the final whistle, the former West Ham captain emphasized the need for reinforcements, noting that the team could see some player departures in the off-season.

“Hopefully we strengthen in the summer, we sign more players, because we are probably going to lose a few,” Rice said.

“With the team we have got, with the manager we have got, we need to be competing for titles. Next year, we will be back.”

Despite a strong domestic campaign, Arsenal is set to finish the season without silverware. The Gunners fell short in the Premier League title race and exited the UEFA Champions League at the quarter-final stage following a defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

Manager Mikel Arteta has been credited with rebuilding the club’s competitive spirit, but Rice’s comments underline the growing expectation within the squad to translate progress into tangible success.
