A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ayekooto Akindele, has reacted strongly to comments made by activist and politician Omoyele Sowore, who alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has already written the results of the 2027 presidential election in favour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, Ayekooto dismissed Sowore’s remarks as unfounded, insisting that President Tinubu is strategically positioning himself for a decisive electoral victory.
“You’re wrong and right simultaneously,” Ayekooto said, addressing Sowore.
“You’re wrong because, in figures, no one can tell you the winning margin Asiwaju will get in 2027. But yes, he will win by a landslide—just like a student who studied hard for exams is expected to pass.”
Drawing a comparison with academic excellence, Ayekooto likened Tinubu’s prospects to scoring an A1 grade, asserting that while the exact figures are unknown, the result is certain.
He praised the President’s ongoing reforms, citing economic policies, infrastructure development, student support initiatives, and enhanced youth corps allowances as achievements that will boost Tinubu’s popularity ahead of the polls.
“Even youth corpers now receive N77,000 monthly. Food prices are crashing, and more territories are safer now than before. Politically, Tinubu is also playing his cards right—many opposition figures are joining the APC, leaving behind only what I call comedians and parasites,” he stated.
Responding metaphorically to Sowore’s claim, Ayekooto likened the anticipated 2027 election outcome to a boxing match between Tyson Fury and Nigerian entertainer Mr. Portable, suggesting that the result would be overwhelmingly in Tinubu’s favour.
“The 2027 result won’t be fully announced before the winner is clear. Tinubu will knock out his opponents in the first round,” he added confidently.
