Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal have reportedly set a tight deadline for Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes to decide on a blockbuster transfer offer.
The Saudi club is eager to make Fernandes their record signing, offering the Portuguese midfielder a staggering €231 million contract over three years.
Fernandes, who recently featured in Manchester United’s narrow 1-0 UEFA Europa League final loss to Tottenham Hotspur, remains a highly valued player despite a tough season for the Red Devils.
The midfielder delivered 19 goals and 17 assists in 56 appearances, proving to be a rare bright spot amid a largely disappointing campaign.
According to reports, Al Hilal’s offer includes a weekly wage of €700,000, amounting to €77 million annually.
The club has also proposed a transfer fee of around €120 million to Manchester United, a figure that would make Fernandes the most expensive signing in the Saudi Pro League’s history — surpassing the €90 million Al Hilal paid PSG for Neymar.
Despite the lucrative offer, Manchester United is reportedly reluctant to part ways with their captain.
The club sees Fernandes as a crucial pillar for manager Rúben Amorim’s vision to rebuild and improve the squad.
