Turkish football analyst Emre Bol has expressed skepticism over Galatasaray’s claims that they can afford to make Victor Osimhen’s loan move from Napoli permanent.
Bol insists that the club’s president, Dursun Ozbek, is bluffing when he suggests the finances are in place to meet Osimhen’s €75 million release clause.
Osimhen, who has impressed during his loan spell at Galatasaray, is reportedly available for a transfer fee of €75 million—an amount far exceeding the club’s record signing of €18 million for Gabriel Sara last summer.
While Galatasaray publicly insists that strategic sponsorship deals will cover the cost, Bol doubts the club has secured the necessary funds.
“I don’t believe the money has been collected either. For Galatasaray, 70 to 75 million euros is 80 percent of their entire transfer budget,” Bol told GsGazette.
“President Dursun Ozbek is bluffing. They are trying to keep the fans hopeful and avoid backlash if Osimhen leaves at the end of the season.”
Bol added that if the club were serious about the deal, it would have been announced by now. “Why are they waiting?” he questioned.
Meanwhile, Osimhen has reportedly declined a move to Juventus, the current frontrunner in the race for his signature this summer, after Premier League clubs withdrew interest due to his wage demands.
Galatasaray fans remain hopeful as the club continues to express its desire to retain the Nigerian striker, but experts warn that the chances of Osimhen staying in Turkey slim.
