Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has reportedly rejected a staggering £200 million proposal from Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal, opting instead to remain at Old Trafford and continue his career in European football.
In recent weeks, Al-Hilal intensified efforts to sign the Portuguese midfielder, with direct talks held between the club and Fernandes’ representatives.
Sources revealed that his agent, Miguel Pinho, was in Riyadh for three days last week, holding discussions with top officials of the Saudi club at the Four Seasons hotel.
Al-Hilal reportedly offered Fernandes a lucrative three-year contract worth £200 million, including a weekly wage of around £700,000 — more than double his current £280,000 salary at Manchester United.
The club was also prepared to submit a formal transfer bid in the region of £100 million to secure the midfielder’s services.
Despite the eye-watering offer, Fernandes is said to have made his decision clear.
According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 29-year-old playmaker has chosen to remain with Manchester United, prioritizing his desire to continue competing at the highest level in European football.
Fernandes, who joined United from Sporting CP in January 2020, has become a pivotal figure at the club, recently taking on the captain’s armband and consistently contributing with goals and assists across all competitions.
