Turkish football commentator, Okan Koç, has made a bold prediction regarding Leroy Sane’s impact at Galatasaray, asserting that the former Bayern Munich winger will outshine both Victor Osimhen and Mauro Icardi during his time with the Turkish champions.
Koç shared his views in a recent interview with Turkish media outlet habersarikirmizi, where he described Sane’s arrival as a major step forward for Galatasaray.
“A player named Leroy Sane came to Galatasaray,” Koç said.
“He will leave a bigger mark on Galatasaray than Icardi and Osimhen.”
Galatasaray confirmed the signing of Sane earlier this month, with the German international set to officially join the squad on July 1, 2025, after ending his stint with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
Sane, 29, is expected to bring speed, creativity, and international experience to a Galatasaray side looking to maintain its domestic dominance and push deeper into European competitions.
Koç’s remarks come amid uncertainty surrounding the futures of two of Galatasaray’s recent stars.
Mauro Icardi, who has been instrumental in Galatasaray’s recent successes, is currently sidelined with a long-term injury.
Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen, who joined the club on loan for the 2024/2025 season, has completed his spell and is yet to announce his next move.
