Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has dispelled rumours of a possible defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), insisting that he remains committed to the party under which he was elected.

Speaking on Monday at the flag-off ceremony of the dualisation of the 3.5km Ila township road in Ila-Orangun, Adeleke made it clear that he has no intention of leaving the PDP.

He reiterated that his focus is on fulfilling his mandate to the people of Osun State.

“I was elected on the platform of the PDP and so shall I remain in the party. I’m not going anywhere,” Adeleke declared.

The governor expressed satisfaction over the commencement of the Ila township road project, noting that it symbolizes progress despite prevailing economic uncertainties.

He emphasized that his administration remains committed to infrastructure development as part of his broader promise to serve the people faithfully.

Highlighting his achievements, Adeleke revealed that over 175 kilometres of roads have been reconstructed, rehabilitated, or renovated since he assumed office.

He also noted that several major projects including road dualizations and flyovers are currently in progress across the state.

Adeleke reaffirmed the strategic importance of the ongoing Osogbo–Ikirun–Inisha–Okuku–Ijabe–Ila Odo road project, which spans 39km and connects Osun to Kwara State. He pledged his administration’s dedication to its timely completion.

“The second phase, which we are flagging off today, is almost the same length as what was completed in 12 years. By the grace of God, we intend to deliver this project within 12 months,” he stated.

Governor Adeleke concluded by reaffirming his spiritual and civic commitment to his role, saying, “Our gathering here to witness the materialisation of a new era is not an accident of history. We are all programmed by Almighty God to be what we have been, what we are, and what we will be in the future.”
