Chelsea Football Club defender, Tosin Adarabioyo, on Tuesday, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as part of his homecoming activities in Nigeria.
The visit comes ahead of a youth football tournament scheduled to hold in Adarabioyo’s honour on Wednesday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.
The Nigerian-born footballer, who recently celebrated a major victory with Chelsea at the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States—where the Blues defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final—was warmly received by the governor at Lagos House.
Sharing moments from the visit on his Instagram page, Governor Sanwo-Olu praised the Premier League star for his humility and contribution to the sport.
“It’s always inspiring to meet young Nigerians making their mark internationally, who remain grounded and stay connected to home,” the governor wrote.
“Tosin Adarabioyo, who plays for Chelsea, stopped by to visit while he’s in Nigeria.”
