Colombian winger Luis Diaz has completed a £65.5 million transfer from Liverpool to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

Diaz passed his medical in Bavaria on Tuesday, finalizing the move after Liverpool accepted Bayern’s improved offer.

The German club had earlier seen an initial bid of around £58.5 million rejected, but returned with a higher proposal that included add-ons.

The 27-year-old leaves Liverpool as a Premier League champion, having scored 41 goals in 148 matches since joining from Porto for £37 million in January 2022. During his time at Anfield, Diaz won the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and helped the Reds reach the 2022 UEFA Champions League final.

In a farewell message, Diaz thanked Liverpool fans, teammates, and coaches, calling the club “a special team.”

He also paid tribute to his late teammate Diogo Jota, saying his departure would have been the “perfect goodbye” if not for the recent tragedy.

Liverpool have now earned around £115 million from player sales this summer.

That amount is helping to balance their spending of roughly £270 million on new signings, including Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez.

The club is also reportedly eyeing Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.
