Former Senator Dino Melaye has once again taken a swipe at the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing the party of worsening the country’s hardship through poor governance.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Friday, Melaye described the APC as “speaking in tongues,” alleging that its policies have led to widespread hunger, poverty, and insecurity.
“They keep saying they’re taking tough decisions, but what Nigerians are experiencing is unbearable suffering,” he said. “They claim to have a roadmap, but it’s like being driven by a drunk driver — there’s no clear direction.”
Melaye, who recently joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), further criticised the federal government for operating with two national anthems and multiple versions of the naira notes, which he said have contributed to public confusion and the circulation of counterfeit currency.
“In no country do you see two versions of N1,000, N500, or even N100 notes. This confusion has made it easier for fake currencies to thrive,” he added.
The former Kogi West senator also dismissed the APC’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, saying it offers little to ordinary Nigerians struggling with daily survival.
