Popular nightlife promoter, Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, has expressed disappointment over his inability to attend singer Davido’s white wedding in Miami, Florida, due to long-standing U.S. visa challenges.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, the celebrity barman said he woke up with “mixed feelings,” describing his absence from the event as both painful and humbling.
“Sometimes, God has a way of making you understand that you are powerless regardless of all you may think you have,” he wrote, while sharing a clip from Davido’s 2024 traditional wedding in Lagos.
Addressing critics who questioned his absence, Cubana Chief Priest said the backlash had given him “multiple reasons and proofs” to reapply for a visa.
He appealed directly to the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria, urging them to “do it for me this time,” adding that the disappointment of missing his best friend’s wedding was deeply felt.
Despite being absent, he noted that his wife and family attended to represent him. “The largest part of me, which is my family and my elegant wife, is there to share in this luxury blissful experience. So I’m there in body and spirit,” he said.
The businessman revealed that persistent errors from his first visa application, filed years ago by another person, continue to affect his chances of approval. He vowed to reapply next week, maintaining hope that “delay is never denial.”
Davido and his wife Chioma’s wedding festivities drew several high-profile guests and celebrities to Miami over the weekend.
