The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the Chikun–Kajuru Federal Constituency by-election in Kaduna State, along with two seats in the State House of Assembly.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared APC’s Felix Bagudu as the winner of the Chikun–Kajuru seat after he polled 34,580 votes against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, who scored 11,491 votes.
The Returning Officer, Prof. Abubakar Mohammed Jumare, announced the result on Sunday in Kujama, praising the peaceful conduct of voters and party agents.
In the State Assembly by-elections, APC’s Isa Haruna Ihamo won the Zaria Kewaye constituency with 26,613 votes, defeating candidates from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and PDP. Similarly, the APC candidate in Basawa constituency secured victory with 10,926 votes, ahead of PDP’s candidate who got 5,499 votes.
The wins strengthened the APC’s hold in Kaduna politics, with jubilant party supporters celebrating across Kujama and parts of Zaria.
Reacting to the outcome, Kaduna APC Secretary, Yahaya Baba-Pate, described the victories as a reward for hard work and evidence of the people’s trust in the party.
