Adeyanju Demands ICPC Probe Ibas Over Missing ₦283bn in Six Months

The political storm in Rivers State deepened yesterday as fiery activist lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, petitioned the ICPC to open a full investigation into the immediate past Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (retd.), over what he described as a mystery ₦283.3 billion allocation.

Adeyanju alleged that within the six months Ibas presided over the state during Governor Sim Fubara’s suspension, virtually nothing tangible was executed despite the staggering funds at his disposal.

“Aside from a cosmetic facelift at the Assembly complex, no projects, no published accounts, no transparency — nothing,” Adeyanju charged, insisting the people of Rivers deserve accountability.

The petition, addressed to the ICPC Chairman, is already sparking fresh debates in Port Harcourt over where the money went — a question many believe could shape Rivers’ turbulent political future.
