Nigerian heavyweight sensation, Efe Ajagba, has stormed into the top 10 heavyweight rankings of The Ring magazine, cementing his place among the sport’s elite fighters.
In its latest ratings released on Thursday, the 30-year-old secured the No. 10 spot, joining a lineup dominated by global stars including champion Oleksandr Usyk, Britain’s Tyson Fury, and New Zealand’s Joseph Parker.
Ajagba, who now holds a professional record of 20 wins, one loss, and one draw with 14 knockouts, remains Nigeria’s sole representative in the prestigious list.
His most recent victories have reignited his world title ambitions and put Africa firmly back in the heavyweight spotlight.
But beyond the stats and rankings, Ajagba’s rise has also been defined by his raw power and emotional drive.
Famously, at the 2016 Rio Olympics, he knocked out his opponent in just 23 seconds — one of the fastest finishes in Games history.
When asked about the secret behind his devastating punch, Ajagba once revealed:
“I just focused all the anger I had for the Nigerian government in one blow.”
