📰 Truth. Accountability. Real Stories from the Streets.
Yesterday, I watched something on a livestream that honestly made me shake my head. Pastor Tobi Adeboyega — yes, the same flashy preacher known for his designer shoes, luxury suits, and fleets of exotic cars — boldly claimed that he is now a British citizen. He said it with full confidence, and I have to admit, that is one of the most ridiculous lies I’ve heard this year.
Let’s break this down properly.
Twenty Years in the UK — Still No Papers
Pastor Tobi has been in the United Kingdom for nearly two decades. He originally entered on a visitor’s visa and simply never left. For years, he tried to legalise his stay, applying under various routes, but failed every time.
Just last year, he appeared before the UK Immigration Tribunal, appealing on human-rights grounds. The tribunal judge’s decision was clear:
“He does not meet the requirements of the UK Immigration Rules. His appeal is dismissed.”
That’s it. Dismissed. Finished. End of story.
The same ruling also stated that there were no obstacles preventing him from returning to Nigeria. In legal terms, that means one thing — you can go home.
From Appeal Dismissed to “I’m Now a Citizen”?
So, how does a man who lost his final immigration appeal in 2024, meaning he was officially refused the right to stay, suddenly appear on livestream in 2025 claiming British citizenship?
Let’s be clear: citizenship does not fall from the sky. It doesn’t come by vision, miracle, or mouth declaration. It requires Home Office approval, background checks, ceremony, passport, and registration.
And when someone actually becomes a British citizen, they don’t need to announce it on TikTok — they travel.
Why Pastor Tobi Has Never Left the UK
Here’s the reality. You have never seen Pastor Tobi travel out of the UK — not to Paris, not to Lagos, not even for a short vacation. Why? Because he cannot.
The system will not allow it. The Home Office knows his case. His name is on file. The same file that records the dismissal of his appeal.
That is why, for all his years in London, the man has never posted a single airport boarding photo. Because he’s grounded — permanently.
The SPAC Nation Controversy
Let’s also not forget the government’s problem with him goes beyond immigration.
His organisation — SPAC Nation — was investigated for financial misconduct, fraud, and exploitation of young people.
In 2022, the UK High Court shut down his company for failing to account for nearly £1.9 million.
Later, the Charity Commission concluded its investigation, finding serious mismanagement and misconduct, and disqualified several trustees from ever running a charity again. The police were notified.
So, when a man with that kind of record — someone who has failed to secure legal status for 20 years, whose organisation was shut down by the courts, and who lost his final appeal just last year — suddenly claims “I am now a citizen,” we must call it what it is: publicity, deception, and manipulation.
The Target: Gullible Nigerians
And who exactly is he trying to convince? Nigerians.
Because he knows that many people back home don’t understand how strict the UK immigration system is.
He knows that if he made that same claim to anyone who actually lives here — people who know how the Home Office operates — he’d be laughed out of the room.
So, what does he do? He goes to Nigerian streamers, podcasts, and YouTube influencers, spinning stories to gain followers who don’t know the full picture. It’s a marketing strategy, not a miracle testimony. It’s all branding and illusion.
A Simple Challenge for Pastor Tobi
So here’s my open challenge to Pastor Tobi Adeboyega:
If you are truly a British citizen — fly.
Book a flight right now. Paris is one hour away. Show us your passport at border control. Let’s see if immigration waves you through. Or better yet — go to Nigeria, the country you love to talk about. Fly there, come back freely, and we’ll believe you.
Until then, stop lying to people.
Respect the Real Struggles
There are people right now fighting real immigration battles — mothers separated from children, fathers detained and deported, families paying thousands in legal fees just to stay together. For you, a public figure and self-proclaimed pastor, to mislead millions with a fake citizenship claim is beyond shameful.
In this country, we don’t believe words — we believe documents.
Citizenship is not claimed; it is proven.
So let me end this clearly:
If you’re a citizen, show the passport. If not — keep quiet.
