‘Nnaji’s Resignation Is a Cheap Attempt to Whitewash Another Scandal’ – Atiku Slams Tinubu’s Govt

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has taken a hard swipe at the Bola Tinubu administration following the resignation of Innovation Minister, Uche Nnaji, describing it as “a desperate effort to cover up another forgery scandal.”

Nnaji, who stepped down on Tuesday amid reports alleging that his university and NYSC certificates were forged, has sparked fresh outrage across political lines. In a scathing post on X, Atiku accused the Federal Government of shielding officials caught in acts of deceit, saying the minister should have been dismissed and prosecuted, not “quietly escorted out through the backdoor.”

“This is not a resignation; it is a whitewash of moral decay,” Atiku declared. “The same DSS that disqualified Nasir El-Rufai for ‘security reasons’ cleared Uche Nnaji despite glaring discrepancies in his credentials.”

He further demanded an independent audit of all ministers’ academic records — including that of the President — insisting Nigerians deserve transparency at the highest level of governance.
