Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho has revealed the real reason behind his blockbuster move to Chelsea, saying the club’s playing philosophy and Enzo Maresca’s vision convinced him to make the switch.
Speaking via a post shared by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Garnacho said:
“When I spoke with the club and Maresca, the style of play was very important. He showed me everything in a video call — it’s a big chance to improve as a player in a team like Chelsea.”
The 21-year-old forward, who sealed a £40 million transfer on a seven-year deal, scored his first goal for the Blues in their 2–1 loss to newly promoted Sunderland on Saturday.
Chelsea, under Maresca’s rebuild, are aggressively strengthening their squad for what’s expected to be a fierce domestic and European campaign.
