Fresh signs of reconciliation have emerged between Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Senate President Godswill Akpabio after months of political tension.
On Thursday, Senator Natasha extended a formal invitation to Akpabio and other lawmakers for a series of project commissioning events scheduled to hold in Ihima, Kogi State, next week as part of activities marking her second anniversary in office.
The invitation letter, personally signed by Natasha and read aloud during plenary by the Senate President, expressed her desire for colleagues to join her at the commissioning.
> “In marking my second-year anniversary as a serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I wish to invite my Distinguished colleagues to join me for the commissioning of projects in Kogi State,” the letter read.
Senators travelling by air are expected to land at the Obajana Airstrip before proceeding to Ihima by road, according to the letter.
Apparently pleased, Akpabio congratulated Natasha in advance after reading the letter, saying, “Congratulations in advance.”
It would be recalled that both lawmakers clashed earlier this year over seat reallocation in the Senate, a dispute that led to Natasha’s six-month suspension on March 6, 2025.
Since her reinstatement on September 24, the Kogi Senator has been active in plenary and has recently shown signs of a renewed working relationship with the Senate leadership.
Her latest invitation is being viewed as a symbol of reconciliation and a move toward rebuilding unity within the Senate.
