FG Plotting Death or Life Sentence for Nnamdi Kanu”  – Says Sowore

FATI SALAM

Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has accused the Federal Government of secretly plotting to secure a d*ath sentence or life imprisonment for IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu.

Sowore claims there is a “high-level political plot” between the Tinubu administration and some members of the judiciary to force a predetermined outcome in Kanu’s tr!al. He alleges that the judge may treat Kanu’s refusal to open his defence as an automatic admission of guilt, clearing the way for a harsh verdict.

He describes the entire process as a political move being disguised as normal court procedure, warning that it could mirror the 1995 Saro-Wiwa executions and trigger serious unrest.

The Federal Government, however, maintains that the evidence against Kanu is strong enough to dismiss his “no-case” submission. Kanu has also filed new suits asking the court to stop the tr!al, insisting his rights are being violated.

Tension continues to rise as Nigerians await the court’s next move.
