Arsenal’s lead at the top of the Premier League has been trimmed to five points after they were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The Gunners entered the clash under pressure after Manchester City and Liverpool both secured wins earlier in the weekend. City edged Leeds United 3-2 on Saturday, while Liverpool defeated West Ham 2-0.
Arsenal appeared to be cruising when Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo was sent off in the first half following a VAR-reviewed lunge on Mikel Merino. But the hosts struck first, with Trevor Chalobah powering in the opener.
Merino later rescued a point for the league leaders with a well-timed header.
Arsenal now sit on 30 points after 13 matches, with Chelsea on 24.
