President Donald Trump has once again come under criticism for mocking a female reporter. When asked about a recent MRI, Trump said he “has no idea” what part of his body was examined, adding that it “wasn’t the brain” because he had taken a cognitive test and “aced it,” implying the reporter could not do the same.
This incident is part of a pattern of Trump targeting female journalists. Recently, he called a New York Times reporter “ugly, both inside and out” after she wrote about his age and energy, and referred to a Bloomberg News correspondent as “piggy” when she asked about Jeffrey Epstein files.
Trump often cites the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) test, a basic screening tool for cognitive impairment, as proof of his intelligence. Experts note that the test is not an IQ measure and say using it to insult others misrepresents its purpose.
Journalism groups and politicians have criticized Trump for belittling reporters, warning that such attacks, particularly against women, can discourage press freedom and encourage harassment.
