Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed confidence in the face of recent political developments, stating that he is unafraid of any outcome, including the possibility of leaving office.

Fubara made this statement on Sunday during the commissioning of the reconstructed Rivers State Government House Staff Quarters, days after the Supreme Court reinstated 27 state lawmakers loyal to former Governor Nyesom Wike.

Addressing concerns over the ruling, which reportedly dampened the spirits of many Rivers residents, the governor urged the people to remain steadfast and trust in divine purpose.

“Our back is not on anybody; it is on God. I want to thank you for your support and assure you that if there is one person on this planet Earth that will continue to stand by you, I will be that person,” he said.

Fubara reaffirmed his commitment to leading the state with honor, integrity, and accountability, stating that he aims to leave a legacy that he can defend even decades from now.

“In as much as I don’t subscribe to violence, when the time comes for us to take a decision, I will lead the course for that decision. Let me say it again: I am not scared of anything. The worst that will happen is for me to leave the office. Am I leaving the earth? Is it going to stop me from existing?” he remarked.
