Shehu Sani Reveals Why Senators Distanced Themselves from Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan
Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has shed light on why no senator openly backed their embattled colleague, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, amid her clash with the leadership of the 10th Senate.
Akpoti-Uduaghan, the suspended senator representing Kogi Central, had accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment and had disagreements with him over seating arrangements in the Senate chamber.
Her stance led to a six-month suspension over alleged violations of Senate rules and other misconduct.
Reacting to the situation, Sani took to his verified Facebook page to explain why his former colleagues remained silent on the matter.
“When I publicly disclosed the salaries and allowances of senators, it nearly got me suspended for six months if not for divine intervention. Just know that if you are there and you blow the whistle too loudly, you will be ‘on your own’—no senator will risk his head and neck to support you,” he wrote.
