Barcelona and Germany international goalkeeper, Marc-André ter Stegen, has firmly denied reports alleging infidelity by his wife, Daniela Jehle, amid their recent separation.
Speculations emerged online suggesting that Jehle, Ter Stegen’s wife of eight years, had cheated on him with her personal trainer—rumors that quickly gained traction following the couple’s announcement of their decision to part ways.
In a strongly worded statement, Ter Stegen criticized the media outlet Catalunya Radio and the 3Cat Group, accusing them of spreading false and damaging information. The 32-year-old goalkeeper also directly called out journalists Juliana Canet, Roger Carandell, and Marta Montaner, labeling them “liars” for allegedly distributing unfounded claims.
“I am shocked and disappointed by the poor management and lack of leadership at Catalunya Radio & 3Cat Group — distributing false news and violating personal rights,” Ter Stegen wrote. “There has not been any infidelity. No third person involved. Fact.”
He added that he and Daniela had mutually agreed to go their separate ways amicably, and maintained that there was no betrayal involved in their decision.
“Dani and I have decided to go different ways in good circumstances where we maintain trustful communication,” he emphasized. “It is completely unacceptable that a government-owned media outlet is spreading this misinformation, causing irreparable damage.”
Ter Stegen and Jehle, who tied the knot in 2017 with a private ceremony near Barcelona and later a church wedding in Tuscany, have two children together.
The goalkeeper is currently sidelined due to a knee injury sustained during a La Liga match against Villarreal in September.
He is recovering from a complete rupture of the patellar tendon in his right knee.
