A veteran physics teacher has resigned from his post after an embarrassing incident in which an explicit video was mistakenly broadcast to a classroom full of teenage students during a lesson.
The 62-year-old teacher, Razif Nurgaliev, reportedly forgot that his laptop was still connected to the projector system while attempting to open an online journal during a class session at a school in Tashkinovo village, near the Russian city of Neftekamsk.
The incident occurred while he was teaching a group of 13 and 14-year-old students. According to reports, after assigning some work to the class, the teacher inadvertently clicked on a link that opened a pornographic website, which was immediately projected on the classroom screen.
A student discreetly recorded the incident from behind a textbook, and the footage has since gone viral on social media.
Initially, school officials suggested that the situation might have been the result of a prank by students.
However, the teacher later admitted to education authorities that the incident was unintentional. “I clicked on something, and some website opened,” he said, expressing shock over what had transpired.
Despite the school’s initial support for the teacher—who had served nearly four decades and was described as “valued and respected”—he stepped down voluntarily amid mounting pressure from parents and the public.
The school principal, Rudania Burkhanova, confirmed that a review was underway and that all parties involved, including parents, students, and the teacher, had been consulted.
“We need to understand the full picture before drawing conclusions. The situation is still being assessed,” Burkhanova said.
Law enforcement authorities in the Bashkortostan region have also launched an investigation into the matter, and the teacher’s laptop has been seized as part of the probe
