A UK-based Nigerian woman, Obiageli Juliana Okoro, has advised single Nigerian women planning to relocate abroad to consider keeping strong ties with their partners back home, noting that the dating scene overseas is not as rosy as some might expect.
In a social media post that has since gone viral, Okoro cautioned women against cutting ties with their romantic partners simply because they’re moving abroad.
According to her, many women assume life abroad comes with better dating opportunities, but the reality may be different.
“Dear single lady in Nigeria planning to travel abroad!! Please keep good communication and contact with your romantic boyfriend ooo… if you balance, you can bring him to join you in the UK,” she advised.
She further described the dating pool abroad as “dry,” and warned that Caucasian men are “not as sweet as some claim,” implying that expectations often fall short of reality for some women who hope to find love abroad.
