Popular Ugandan clergyman, Pastor Joshua Nalebo, has announced his separation from his wife, Enid Mirembe, after seven years of marriage.

The respected preacher made the emotional disclosure in a Facebook post on Wednesday, citing personal shortcomings and spiritual attacks as reasons for the breakup.

According to Nalebo, the decision to part ways was reached mutually to ensure peace, healing, and the overall well-being of both parties involved.

In his words, “Enid Mirembe is an incredible woman. In many ways, she was too perfect for me to keep up with, and I mishandled the treasure she was.”

The pastor admitted he failed to fully honour the values his wife carried and acknowledged falling short of his calling as a spiritual leader.

“I was warned that the enemy often comes for the most precious things—and family is one of them,” he wrote. “I now see how easily the enemy can sow division when we are not vigilant in prayer, humility, and love.”

He confirmed that their children would remain in the custody of their mother, whom he described as a woman of strength and wisdom.

Nalebo also expressed his heartfelt wishes for his estranged wife, praying she finds the love and honour he was unable to give.

“I return to the feet of Jesus,” he added, “to seek Him more deeply, to serve Him more faithfully, and to become the man He originally called me to be.”

The post ended with a scripture from Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
