Renowned Fuji maestro, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, narrowly escaped harm on Sunday as his convoy came under attack by suspected hoodlums in Ikire, a town in Osun State’s Irewole Local Government Area

The disturbing incident, which took place in the afternoon, involved suspected thugs who allegedly hurled stones and opened fire on vehicles in the musician’s convoy.

Among the targeted vehicles were a black Hummer Jeep and a white Hilux truck, both reportedly sustaining visible damage.

Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos and fear as the attack unfolded, with a video circulating online capturing people screaming and one voice narrating in Pidgin English, “Kasala don burst for Ikire. They don attack us. They carry gun shoot us but God dey.”

It is yet to be confirmed if any individuals within Pasuma’s entourage suffered injuries, though the artist himself is believed to have escaped unhurt.

Efforts by Daily Post to reach Pasuma or his management team for an official response were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.

The incident caused a temporary disruption of activities in the town, leaving many residents in shock and forcing some businesses to shut down momentarily.

Pasuma was said to be in Osun State for a scheduled performance, although full details of his visit remain sketchy.

As of press time, the Osun State Police Command has not issued any formal statement on the attack, nor has there been confirmation of any arrests in connection with the violence.
