A carpenter has been arrested by local vigilantes in Kabba town, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, for allegedly stealing a goat.
According to the Kogi State Vigilante Service, the suspect was apprehended on Friday, along with a woman suspected to be a buyer of stolen goats.
The arrest followed intelligence gathered by the operatives, who had been monitoring suspicious activities in the area.
The vigilante group also disclosed that another suspect believed to be an accomplice in the operation is currently on the run, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend him.
Chairman of Kabba/Bunu LGA, Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael, confirmed the incident and assured residents that the suspects will face the full weight of the law once investigations are concluded.
“This administration is committed to supporting security agencies and local vigilantes to ensure that criminal activities are curtailed. Anyone found guilty of disrupting the peace of our community will be dealt with accordingly,” he said.
