Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Femi Adebayo, has revealed the defining moment he chose acting over his law career — a decision that would later shape his life and legacy in Nigeria’s entertainment industry

In a recent interview with Pulse, the award-winning actor shared how a simple calculation changed everything. At the time, Adebayo was earning a modest salary of ₦20,000 monthly as a practicing lawyer.

However, an acting opportunity came along that offered him ₦50,000 for just three days of work.

“Acting was a hobby for me at the time,” Adebayo explained. “But then I got offered ₦50,000 to act for just three days.

Meanwhile, my monthly salary as a lawyer was ₦20,000. That was when I said, ‘Femi, this acting is your calling.’”

That moment, he said, gave him the clarity he needed to leave law behind and fully commit to acting — a decision that has since paid off, not only in recognition and success but also in contributing to the legacy of his father, legendary actor Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello.
