Manchester United’s dismal 4-0 defeat against Crystal Palace has left manager Erik ten Hag in a tight spot, with the blame game focusing squarely on the team’s faltering defence
The loss not only deepens United’s woes in the Premier League but also dims their prospects for European football next season.
Crystal Palace scored twice through Michael Olise, Jean-Philippe Mateta, and Tyrick Mitchell, leaving the Red Devils in a tense situation.
Speaking Sky Sports, Ten Hag minced no words, stating,“There are always reasons and everyone sees our backline and we have huge problems.
“At the end of the day, we have to deal with it and we should have done better than we did.”
He added: “It is clear and it is obvious. This is underperforming. We didn’t act how we want to do it and it’s by far not good enough.
“We are very disappointed, but the fans were always behind us and we kept fighting, like the fans did.
