Chelsea legend John Terry has expressed his dissatisfaction with the club’s decision to sack head coach Mauricio Pochettino.
In an Instagram post , Terry wrote, “Gutted to see @pochettino [Mauricio Pochettino] @jpp_71 [Jesus Perez, assistant] @sebpochettino [Sebastian Pochettino, son and sports scientist] leave.”
“I just hope we don’t sign or sell any players until we get a manager in. [thought bubble emoji].”
Terry has advised Chelsea not to rush into summer transfer plans following Pochettino’s departure, emphasizing the need for stability before making any significant moves in the market.
The former Tottenham boss’s exit comes after just one year at Stamford Bridge, despite ending the season on a high note with five consecutive wins, securing European football for the next campaign.
Pochettino’s exit was confirmed after two days of discussions with Chelsea’s decision-makers at the Surrey training complex.
The announcement on Tuesday night revealed the club’s intent to seek their third permanent manager in two years under the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital ownership consortium.
The decision to part ways with Pochettino surprised many fans, especially after Chelsea’s strong finish to the season. In 2024, the Blues were among the top performers in the Premier League, reaching the FA Cup semi-final and the Carabao Cup final.
