The governor of Kano, Abba Yusuf has formally announced the reinstatement of Muhammadu Sanusi as the Emir of Kano.
Governor Yusuf made the announcement of Sanusi’s reinstatement shortly after he signed the bill inhibiting the five emirates formed in 2019, on Thursday
In March 2020, the former governor of Kano, Abdullahi Ganduje, deposed Sanusi as Emir of Kano “for total disrespect to lawful instructions from the office of the governor”.
