Paul Ibe, the spokesman for Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, has strongly criticized President Bola Tinubu, claiming his leadership has left Nigeria in a state of disarray within just one year in office.
Ibe’s sharp comments came in response to a recent statement by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
During the flag-off ceremony of the Kugbo Bus Terminal in Abuja, Akpabio expressed confidence that Nigeria would become unrecognizable by the end of Tinubu’s tenure.
“I have no doubt that by the time the president is through with his tenure in the country, seven years from today (Tuesday), many people will not recognize FCT, they will not recognize Nigeria again,” Akpabio stated.
He also urged Nigerians to pray for Tinubu, expressing hope that the country’s current challenges would be resolved.
However, Ibe countered Akpabio’s optimism with a bleak assessment of Tinubu’s first year. In a post on X, Ibe wrote:
“Senate President Godswill Akpabio is right that nobody will recognize Nigeria when Tinubu is done with it. It is barely a year, but the Nigeria that was handed over to him is scattered, battered, and shattered. It is already unrecognizable.”
