Why I Turned Down Premier League Offers for Bayern Munich — Olise

Bayern Munich signing Michael Olise has explained his decision to snub Premier League clubs in favor of a move abroad.

On Sunday, the winger completed a £60 million transfer from Crystal Palace to the German champions.

Olise had been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United prior to his move. Last summer, Chelsea believed they had secured his signature, but the 22-year-old opted to sign a new contract at Selhurst Park instead.

“The talks with FC Bayern were very positive, and I’m very happy to now be playing for such a big club,” Olise, who has signed a five-year contract with the Bavarians, said.

He added, “It’s a great challenge, and that’s exactly what I was looking for. I want to prove myself at this level and play my part in ensuring that we win as many titles as possible with our team in the coming years.”
