French forward Kylian Mbappe has publicly acknowledged his failure at Euro 2024.

The star forward made this candid admission following France’s 2-1 loss to Spain in the semi-final on Tuesday.

Mbappe, who recently joined Real Madrid, managed to score only once during the tournament, converting a penalty.

Reflecting on his time in Germany, Mbappe stated, “In football you’re good or not good. I wasn’t good. My Euro was a failure.”

The 25-year-old had high hopes of leading France to European glory but fell short. “I wanted to be European champion,” he expressed, highlighting his disappointment.

Looking ahead, Mbappe plans to take a well-deserved break before preparing for the next chapter of his career. “I will now go on holiday, I will rest well, it will do me a lot of good, then I will get ready to start a new life. There’s a lot to do,” he added.
