Fire Incident At Our Refinery Caused The Delay In Petrol Production — Dangote

The chairman of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, says petrol production was disrupted as a result of a fire incident that happened at its refinery.

On May 18, Dangote said the refinery would start producing petrol that month, emphasizing that Nigeria would not have to import the product again.

But on the 11th of June, he said because of a minor delay, the start of petrol supply has been postponed to July.

Whilst speaking to newsmen at his refinery in Lagos on Saturday, the business mogul said premium motor spirit (PMS) will be available by August.

“PMS was supposed to be out by July but we had a fire incident,” the billionaire said.

“The incident disrupted us for a few days but latest 10 or 12 of August, PMS will be ready.”

A part of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery was gut by fire on June 26.
