Manchester United have reached a significant milestone in their summer transfer activity by securing an agreement with Bayern Munich for the transfer of Dutch centre-back Matthijs de Ligt.
The 24-year-old defender will move to Old Trafford in a deal valued at €45 million, with an additional €5 million in potential add-ons.
The transfer is subject to De Ligt passing a medical examination, after which he is expected to sign a five-year contract with Manchester United.
The contract will also include an option to extend the agreement by an additional 12 months, ensuring a long-term commitment from the player.
De Ligt, who has previously played for Juventus and Ajax, is considered one of the most promising defenders in Europe.
