INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church Leader, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has cautioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu about the rising food prices in Nigeria.

In a statement released on Tuesday through his Media Aide, Oluwatosin Osho, the respected cleric emphasized the critical need for a long-term solution to the nation’s food price crisis.

According to Primate Ayodele, the current administration appears to be struggling with the challenge of reducing food prices, a situation he attributes to acts of sabotage within the government.

He cautioned that if the issue is not resolved promptly, it could lead to significant unrest.

“This government doesn’t know what to do regarding the price of food items; they are already confused,” Primate Ayodele stated.

“They have sabotaged it against the government, and they will turn it into propaganda. Forces will use it to fight the government.”

The prophet warned that the short-term measures being implemented by the Tinubu administration would only exacerbate the hardship faced by Nigerians.

He argued that without a sustainable, long-term strategy, the government would be unable to achieve peace or alleviate the suffering of the populace.

“I see no way of having peace in Tinubu’s government if the price of food commodities continues to skyrocket. There can never be peace because there will be hardship.”

“The government’s approach to create short-term solutions will not work; it will lead to more hardship. People are only being deceived that the prices of commodities have reduced—it’s a lie,” he added.

Primate Ayodele also took the opportunity to commend churches and individuals who have stepped in to assist in mitigating the effects of the economic challenges.

However, he stressed that these efforts, while commendable, cannot substitute for the role of the government in providing effective and lasting relief.

“Churches and individuals have been trying their best to help the situation, and I commend everyone who has participated so far. But none can ever replace the government. The government has a lot to do to make it more effective,”
