Aisha Yesufu, a socio-political activist, has criticized the Department of State Services (DSS) for the arrest of Omoyele Sowore, a former presidential candidate and prominent figure in the EndBadGovernance movement.

Sowore was reportedly apprehended by DSS operatives in Lagos on Sunday after returning from the United States.

The arrest came as a surprise to many, given his role in organizing protests against bad governance in Nigeria. His detention sparked public outcry, though Sowore later confirmed his release in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

In response to the incident, Aisha Yesufu took to her official X account to express her displeasure with the actions of the DSS, calling the agency “shameless” and “unintelligent.”

“DSS/SSS is not only shameless but unintelligent. They fell for the bait! Kai! No wonder terrorists are using them to chew gum,” Yesufu wrote in a sharp rebuke aimed at the country’s secret police.
