The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Monday Okpebholo, has been declared the winner of the Saturday Edo state governorship election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returning officer, Farouk Adamu announced the results of the polls in Benin City, the Edo state capital, on Sunday.
Okpebholo won the election having amassed 291,667 votes to defeat his closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 247,244 votes.
