President Bola Tinubu will tomorrow, Tuesday, 1st of October 2024 speak to Nigerians in a nationwide broadcast at 7 a.m.

The special adviser to the president on information and strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga made this known through a statement on Monday.

Onanuga stated that the broadcast is part of activities to mark the 64th Independence Anniversary of the country.

“Television, radio stations and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria for the broadcast,” Onanuga said.

The federal government had already declared Tuesday, October 1, 2024, as public holiday to mark this year’s Independence Day celebration.

The minister of interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the announcement on Saturday in a statement made available by Magdalene Ajani, permanent secretary in the ministry.

The federal government added that this year’s Independence Day anniversary will be a “low-key event” owing to the economic hardship that millions of Nigerians are grappling with.
