The immediate ex governor of Edo, Godwin Obaseki, has went on a vacation to “rest and undergo extended medical checks”.
Media adviser to the erstwhile governor, Crusoe Osagie, announced the development through a statement on Wednesday but did not disclose where Obaseki would spend his vacation.
Obaseki completed his two-term of eight years on November 11 after handing over to Sen. Monday Okpebholo, Edo state new governor.
Osagie said Obaseki, “Once again expressed his appreciation to God Almighty and the people of Edo state and Nigeria for the opportunity to serve”.
“He urged all Edo people, both at home and in the diaspora, to continue to be hopeful and pray for the peace, progress, and prosperity of our state and Nigeria,” Osagie added.
