The Lagos chapter of the Middle Belt Youths has publicly endorsed Seyi Tinubu as their preferred candidate for the governorship of Lagos State in 2027.
The group made this declaration during a press conference held on Thursday at Eko Hotel, Lagos, citing Tinubu’s detribalized nature and capacity to continue the legacy of his father, Bola Tinubu.
Addressing the press, Dr. Stanley Augustine Kavwam, Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Middle Belt Forum, and Capt. Brent Kane, the forum’s National Youth Leader, highlighted Seyi Tinubu’s efforts to empower people across different tribes and religions.
They emphasized that his inclusive leadership style makes him uniquely qualified to manage Lagos, a state known for its diverse population.
“Who else will the people in Lagos support if Seyi Tinubu accepts to run for the highest office in Lagos State? Seyi knows no tribe, no religion, and no gender.
He believes in all people irrespective of their tribe or religion,” the group stated.
The forum praised Tinubu’s proactive approach to national integration, citing examples of his outreach efforts.
His response to the massive floods in Borno State, where he mobilized support and donated resources, was particularly noted as a reflection of his compassion and leadership qualities.
They also underscored his strong interpersonal relationships and ties to the South East through his marriage, which they described as an added advantage for fostering unity in Lagos.
“There are many sons and daughters of presidents across the country whom we have carefully assessed. Many of them don’t come close to people, but Seyi is exceptionally different. His limitless link to other tribes makes him one of the most detribalized young persons in Nigeria currently,” they added.
The group revealed that their endorsement had the approval of the national body of the Middle Belt Youths Forum based in Abuja.
They acknowledged Seyi Tinubu’s efforts in youth empowerment across tribes as an example of modern leadership.
Calling on him to accept their plea, the group declared, “It is now or never!” urging him to step forward and run for Lagos State’s highest office in 2027.
