Tinubu Returns to Nigeria After South Africa Visit

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after co-chairing the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC) alongside South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The President arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 9:10 pm on Wednesday, December 5, 2024.

He was welcomed by high-ranking government officials, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike; the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

Other dignitaries present included the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, and the FCT Commissioner of Police, Peter Opara.

The 11th session of the BNC, held in South Africa, brought together delegations from both nations to discuss and advance partnerships in key sectors.

The meeting, which featured deliberations across eight working groups, covered political consultations, consular and migration issues, banking and finance, defence and security, manufacturing, the social sector, mines and energy, and trade and investments.

President Tinubu and President Ramaphosa emphasized the importance of fostering deeper bilateral ties to strengthen the economies of both nations.
