The children of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, have issued a stern warning to his former wife, Damilola Shukurat Moshood, popularly known as Queen Dami, over her ongoing online remarks involving their late father’s name.
The royal family has threatened legal action if she continues to publicly discuss their father’s legacy in a manner they deem disrespectful.
In a letter addressed to Queen Dami, dated January 22, the monarch’s children expressed their concerns regarding her recent online behavior, which they claim tarnishes the memory of their late father.
They demanded that she cease using the name of Oba Lamidi Adeyemi in her social media battles, particularly as the monarch has been brought into her public dispute with her ex-lover, popular singer Portable.
“We have observed with great disappointment how you have continued to involve our father’s name and legacy in public conversations. We urge you to pursue your personal endeavors without bringing shame to his memory or our family name,” the letter stated.
Queen Dami, the last wife of the late Alaafin, has been involved in a series of public disputes, particularly with Portable, a controversial musician. The situation has escalated online, with the monarch’s legacy being brought into the fray.
The royal family’s letter made it clear that they would take legal action if Queen Dami did not cease these actions immediately. The family emphasized that their father’s legacy should be respected and not used as a tool in personal conflicts.
“Our father’s legacy is sacred to us, and we will not allow anyone to tarnish it for personal gain or to fuel public drama,” the letter concluded.
