Media personality Dayo Olarinde, popularly known as DaddyFreeze, has thrown his weight behind the recent claim by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, that Nigeria’s healthcare system is attracting patients from countries like the United States and the United Kingdom.

Pate made the assertion on Tuesday, February 4, while addressing State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, presided over by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

“People are now beginning to come from the subregion, and even from faraway places like the UK and the US, to receive quality healthcare in Nigeria,” the minister stated.

He added that despite challenges in the sector, significant progress is being made under the Tinubu administration.

While Pate’s statement was met with skepticism by many Nigerians, DaddyFreeze supported the claim, citing personal experiences.

According to him, in the last two years, he has come across at least 30 individuals from the UK, Canada, and the US who traveled to Nigeria for medical treatment.

He explained that factors such as long waiting lists and expensive private healthcare in these foreign countries contributed to their decision to seek medical care in Nigeria.
